Responsible marketing email use. No spam. No bulk blasts.

What you may use BeenSend for

Consent-based newsletters

Relevant newsletters sent to people who knowingly subscribed to receive marketing from your brand.

Opt-in promotional campaigns

Marketing announcements and offers sent to customers or prospects with documented permission, within approved usage limits.

Marketing nurture sequences

Welcome, educational and follow-up marketing sequences for opted-in audiences, provided they are not transactional notifications or bulk blasts.

Strictly prohibited activities

Bulk and mass email

Mass-blast mailing and unrestricted high-volume promotional distribution, including attempts to split traffic across accounts to evade controls.

Transactional messages

OTPs, password resets, order receipts, account notices, login codes, billing notices and event-triggered system alerts.

Non-consensual contacts

Purchased, rented, scraped, harvested, borrowed or shared lists and unsolicited cold outreach.

  • Spam, phishing, impersonation, identity spoofing or deceptive subject lines and content.
  • Malware, harmful files, credential harvesting, fraud or misleading commercial claims.
  • Unlawful promotions, infringement, hate, threats, harassment or abusive content.
  • Using a list after unsubscribes or objections, or bypassing suppression and bounce controls.
  • Sending on behalf of unrelated businesses without appropriate authorization and recipient permission.
  • Circumventing domain authentication, provider restrictions, usage controls, account suspension, security measures or anti-spam checks.

Proof of opt-in consent

Before you upload contacts, confirm that each recipient specifically requested the type of marketing emails you plan to send and can identify your business. You should maintain proof that can be reviewed.

  • Collection method or signup form and the organization named at sign-up.
  • Date and time of opt-in plus the wording or version of the marketing consent notice.
  • Source of the signup and available supporting records.
  • Current subscription status, unsubscribes and consent changes.
Not acceptable as permission

A business card, public email address, LinkedIn profile, old customer invoice or purchased database is not by itself proof of consent for your marketing campaigns.

How recipients must be treated

Every permitted campaign must identify the sender clearly and provide a reliable way to unsubscribe. Process opt-out requests promptly and keep those recipients suppressed. Marketing must be accurate, relevant and non-deceptive.

Mailbox provider rules may impose additional requirements such as SPF, DKIM, DMARC and one-click unsubscribe for relevant senders. These do not override BeenSend’s stricter no-bulk policy.

Technical, content and account abuse controls

BeenSend may monitor available sending-health indicators, abuse reports, suspicious patterns and account activity to protect legitimate users. We may request proof of consent, pause sending, reject questionable lists, require corrective action, suspend accounts or terminate access for serious misuse.

Our hosting provider AWS also prohibits using its infrastructure to facilitate unsolicited mass email. See the AWS Acceptable Use Policy and our Terms of Service.

Reporting abuse and asking for approval

Suspected spam, unauthorized use or improper transactional/bulk sending can be reported to contact@beensend.com. Include the sender domain, message details and supporting evidence where possible. If your use case might not fit these rules, ask before uploading contacts or starting a campaign.
